Say Goodbye To Bacterial Vaginosis With This Simple Solution.

Bacterial vaginosis, also known as BV, is the most common cause of vaginal infection for women between 15 to 44 years.

In fact, an estimated one in three American women will get BV

So, if you’re struggling with BV...

Just know that you’re not alone!

We know it’s hard to talk to someone regarding your intimate parts, and the shyness that comes with talking about it.

But that ends today, because we will be the ones informing you about it, as well as ways to deal with BV naturally!

What exactly is Bacterial Vaginosis?

Healthy vaginas come with bacteria in them. But changes in the balance of the different kinds of bacteria in your vagina can lead to bacterial vaginosis (BV).

Bacterial vaginosis — usually called BV — is a bacterial infection where the different kinds of healthy bacteria in your vagina get out of balance and grow too much.

Major hormonal changes like menopause, along with douching or using vaginal deodorants and other irritating products, can alter the pH balance and mess with bacteria levels, which leads to infection.

The symptoms of BV include:

  • Burning feeling when you pee
  • Fishy smell that gets stronger after sex
  • Itching
  • Thin white, gray, or green discharge

Why you shouldn’t wait to treat Bacterial Vaginosis

The longer you wait to resolve your BV, the more complications it would cause, like:

  • HIV infection, as BV increases susceptibility to the virus
  • STIs, such as the herpes simplex virus, chlamydia, gonorrhea
  • post-surgical infection, for example, after a termination or a hysterectomy
  • Possible complications of BV during pregnancy include:

BV also increases the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), an infection and inflammation of the upper female genital tract that can have severe consequences, including infertility.

What to do when you have Bacterial Vaginosis?

In one-third of cases, bacterial vaginosis (BV) resolves on its own without any medications.

But that doesn’t mean you should deal with it, because if you have symptoms, having BV makes you prone to sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

The usual treatment for bacterial vaginosis (BV) is prescribed antibiotics, typically metronidazole or clindamycin. These medications come in a gel or cream you insert into your vagina. They also come in pills you can take orally.

However, if you rely too much on antibiotics for recurring BV, you might be more prone to vaginal yeast infection.

The antibiotics can cause yeast infections in some people because they kill off beneficial bacteria that prevent the overgrowth of yeast in the vagina.
