Dear Husband,
By now you probably would have guessed that I am different from what I used to be.
You might be wondering why I’m getting irritated over the littlest things and my mood can change drastically in minutes.
I just want to say that no, you did not do anything wrong.
I just have menopause.
I know you’ll never fully understand what it’s like for me but I want to tell you my story so you’ll better understand everything that I’m going through.
I hope you’ll come to realise that I still love you and I don’t mean to snap at you at times.
You see, menopause affects every woman differently.
Some women are lucky to not experience many symptoms and breeze through menopause
The majority, like me, experiences it all from hot flashes, insomnia, weight gain, brain fog and mood swings.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to not be irritated often when I’m feeling like my skin is on fire constantly, can’t sleep at night and see my weight balloon.

Sometimes I just go into the bathroom and cry because I don’t like the me that I’ve become.
I want to get back the happy and loving me.
I’m not expecting you to know what I’m going through but I hope you’ll now be able to understand that I have no control over much of what I’m experiencing.
Trust me, I’d love to cuddle with you at night.
I’d love to not snap at you for the littlest of things and spoil your day.
I’d also love to have the energy to take the dog out for a walk and play with our grandkids.
Menopause just makes these things hard and I just can’t do it sometimes.
I hope you’ll understand.
I’m already struggling to keep myself sane with all these huge changes in my body.
I just hope that you will not take all my irritability, mood swings and weird behaviors as anything personal and just help me out and support me whenever I need it.
